KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) -

Police hope a photo of the victim and new leads from the public will help them solve an almost two-year-old murder mystery.

In the spring of 2012, work crews found skeletal remains at a construction site near Executive Park Boulevard.

There was no identification on the body, and at first police had no idea how the man died.

Forensic anthropologists determined the man had been murdered.

And they determined the victim's identity -  a man named Antonio Wyatt who had been reported missing in Kingsport in 2011.  Wyatt last lived at a Kingsport motel while doing contract work in St. Paul Virginia, police said.

The one fact that eludes police - the name of the person who killed Antonio Wyatt.

"They were able to determine that the body showed consistent signs of gunshot wounds throughout the body, so we're trying to figure out exactly how this individual died, what the circumstances were to it," said Officer Tom Patton, Kingsport Police.

If you have information that could help Kingsport Police, call 423-246-9111.
