In our efforts to assist every municipality within Hinds County and to offer them greater resources, The Hinds County Sheriff's Department assisted the Raymond Police Department with a traffic stop on Wednesday, August 14.
During the stop, which was conducted on Highway 18 in Raymond shortly after 7:00 p.m., the Raymond Police Department called for assistance from the HCSO. The vehicle stopped was described as a green Mercury Marquise and was pulled over and stopped in the parking lot of the Raymond Detention Center.
Upon our initial investigation, we learned the vehicle was registered to Brandon Narrell Moore, who is employed as a second shift Detention Officer at the Raymond Detention Center.
The vehicle was being driven at the time of the traffic stop by Antoine LaShun Hollis, the brother of Detention Officer Brandon Moore.
After interviewing Hollis and Moore, both men were arrested.
29-year-old Moore was charged with possession of marijuana and introducing contraband into a correctional facility.
25-year-old Hollis, the driver of the vehicle and additional passengers 27-year-old Patrick Lorenzo Jones and 21-year-old Vincent Earl Donelson were charged with conspiracy to introduce contraband into a corrections facility.
Hinds County Sheriff Tyrone Lewis is committed to working all across Hinds County to rid our streets and communities of drugs. "It is always refreshing to see partnerships work," Lewis said. "Not only is our department committed to cleaning up the streets of Hinds County, but we take our roles to manage our correctional facilities very seriously and want to send a clear message to everyone, that this type of behavior will not be tolerated."
