A 14-year-old in McComb is accused of killing his father and trying to destroy the evidence. That's according to new documents obtained by News Channel 12.
The boy's name is Blake Thompson. Neighbors say he was a runaway living in the home nearby where authorities uncovered his father's body.
53-year-old Kenneth Thompson was found dead - his neck stabbed - in the wooded area behind 1025 Josephine Drive in McComb.
Neighbors said on Monday that man was searching for his son last week.
Blake Thompson is charged with first degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and third degree arson.
His father's black Chevrolet Silverado was found burned behind a house in a wooded area.
That property is owned by a relative of 25-year-old Jasper Pittman, according to the affidavit.
Until recently, he was employed by the Brookhaven Police Department. Police administration says he's since been fired and was only on his second week of the job and in a probationary period.
He's charged with accessory after the fact of murder, third degree arson, conspiracy to commit third degree arson, and sexual battery.
Greg Fortenberry and 17-year-old LeJerrious Perkins have been given identical charges: first degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, third degree arson, and corresponding conspiracy charges.
Neighbors say those four people were living together in a run-down brick home.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is handling this case.
Their investigation is ongoing and will be turned over to the Pike County Grand Jury.
