PEARL - The Mississippi Braves defeated the Huntsville Stars 6-2 in game three of the final five-game series of the regular season Sunday evening. Greg Golson led the M-Braves with two hits and three runs scored. The series continues with game four Monday at 7:00 PM.

Mississippi (34-28, 72-60) plated six runs on six hits while Huntsville (27-36, 56-75) scored two runs on just five hits. Tommy La Stella walked and Edward Salcedo grounded into a force out, putting runners at the corners. Jose Martinez then grounded out to drive in Luna.

Golson led off the second with a double to center and Luna walked. La Stella then delivered a two-run double to left field, putting the M-Braves out front 4-0.

Mississippi added a run in the fourth and the fifth. Edward Salcedo grounded out with the bases loaded to drive home Golson from third, making it a 5-0 game. Braeden Schlehuber doubled with two out in the fifth, and Aaron Northcraft followed with a RBI-single to left, extending the Braves lead to 6-0.

Huntsville got on the board in the top of the eighth. Mike Walker walked and Brock Kjeldgaard blasted a two-run homer to dead-center field, cutting the M-Braves lead to 6-2.

Northcraft (8-8) held the Stars to just three hits while walking three batters in five and one-third innings. He struck out seven batters. Taylor Jungmann (9-10) gave up five earned runs on three hits and seven walks. He struck out one batter in three and one-third innings pitched.

M-Braves right-hander Gus Schlosser (6-5, 2.50) takes the hill in game four of this five-game series Monday. He'll counter Stars righty Ariel Pena (7-8, 3.88). First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Gates open at 6:00 PM.
