AAA estimates about 34.1 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home this Labor Day weekend.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is doing its part to keep our roads as safe as possible.
All weekend, you can expect to be stopped at checkpoints across the state.
The Highway Patrol reminds you this is for your safety. If you're stopped, present your drivers license and anything else the trooper requests. Be patient, and don't try to go around the checkpoint.
And remember, there is always a designated driver, whether it's a friend, relative or taxi.
We'll update you on arrests and citations as the weekend progresses.
