Friday, two Hinds County Detention Officers were fired and subsequently arrested on several charges.
Detention Officer Peter Green has been charged with Aiding and Abetting an inmate's escape.
Detention Officer Jacqualine Jenkins has been charged with Introducing Contraband into a Correctional Facility, according to Othor Cain, the department's Director of Media and Communications.
Cain says Green and Jenkins helped two inmates escape from the Downtown Jackson facility.
Those inmates, according to Cain, are 22-year-old Natasha Jamescia Jobe and 18-year-old Tristian Rachell Gorden. Both were quickly recaptured and rebooked into the jail. They'll face additional charges for escaping.
Mugshots for Green and Jenkins were not immediately available.
