ROANOKE COUNTY -

4:10 p.m.

State Police Sgt. Robert Carpentieri says the driver killed in the crash was 52-year-old Richard Lee Heist Jr., from Paradise, Pennsylvania.

11:17 a.m.

Virginia State Police tell WSLS the trucking company is Shumaker Trucking, based out of Dillsburg, PA.

The truck was carrying empty paint cans.

10:36 a.m.

State Police say the crash killed the driver of the tractor trailer.  Troopers are waiting for the driver's family to be notified before releasing the name.

Sgt. Robert Carpentieri said the driver was from out of state.

The crash took place around 4:30 a.m., near the Roanoke County Exit 141 (Electric Road).

7:06 a.m.

VDOT is continuing to work on a tractor trailer accident on Interstate 81 southbound near mile marker 141 in Roanoke County.

The south exit ramp is closed.

Drivers should expect delays.
