Chapel Hill police looking for 2 suspects in shooting

Chapel Hill police released the names of two suspects they said were involved in an early morning shooting on Pope Road.

Police are looking for Rahmil Dimitri Ingram, 21, and Jahmil Deshawn Ingram, 19, in connection with the shooting that occurred around 5:30 a.m., according to police.

Rahmil Ingram is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill - inflicting serious injury, first-degree burglary, second-degree kidnapping, discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and two counts of assault by pointing a gun.

Jahmil Ingram is charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree kidnapping, and related conspiracy charges.

Chapel Hill police responded to a report of a shooting at a home on Pope Road at approximately 5:30 a.m. One adult male was found with gunshot wounds to his hand and abdomen.

The man was taken to UNC Hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. 

Police warn that the suspects are to be considered armed and dangerous.
