Second Suspect Arrested For Credit Union Robbery

On Tuesday, September 24, 2013 approximately 6:25 pm, Ridgeland MS Police Department responded to 107 Market Ridge Drive to the Members Exchange Credit Union on a reported robbery at this financial institution. Upon the officers’ arrival, it was determined two female credit union employees had been restrained inside the building while a single suspect removed US currency from the credit union vault.  The suspect had entered the building through an employee entrance approximately 5:45 pm and lay in wait for the two employees to enter the vault room.  The suspect exited the credit union through a north door where a vehicle was waiting on the suspect.

Through the initial stages of the investigation, information was obtained with the assistance of the Jackson Field Office of the FBI, which led to charges being filed against a credit union employee who is identified as Olivia Mae Walker, 31 years of age from Pearl, MS.  Walker is charged with one count of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery and one count of Simple Robbery.  Walker is currently held in the Madison County Detention Center on no bond pending her appearance in Ridgeland Municipal Court scheduled for Tuesday, October 1st at 1:30 pm.

Additional information was obtained throughout the investigation which identified the suspect who entered the credit union.  This suspect is identified as Kenyatta A. McGee, 29 years of age from Jackson, MS.  McGee is identified as a dating acquaintance of Olivia Walker.  Investigative information obtained led to arrest warrants being issued against Kenyatta A. McGee for one count of Robbery, one count of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery and one count of Kidnapping. 

Attempts to locate McGee began and with the assistance of various law enforcement agencies to include the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force of the US Marshals Office, US Marshals North Georgia, Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Gainsville Georgia Police Department and Hall County Georgia Sheriffs Department, Kenyatta A. McGee was taken into custody on Friday, September 27, 2013 approximately 10:30 pm EST.  McGee was arrested without incident and a subsequent search of an apartment in Gainsville Georgia resulted in the seizure of an amount of US Currency which is undetermined at this time.  Upon completion of extradition hearings, McGee will be transported back to Ridgeland Police Department to face charges.
