Tech Football looks to UNC as Hokie Hoops Looks Towards Season

Posted: Updated:

It was a sports packed day at Virginia Tech.  It all got started with the Hokies weekly football press conference and one thing was consistent throughout all of the interviews. Last week's win over Georgia Tech is in the past and the focus must shift to UNC. Coach Frank Beamer said the Hokies were "pounded" last year in Chapel Hill and he knows the team can't take the Tar Heels lightly.

The basketball team also held their media day in Cassell Coliseum. Head Coach James Johnson says there are a lot of uncertainties going in to this year but his hope is simple. Get better every day in practice and take the season one game at a time.
