GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Dozens of people gathered outside the Pitt County Courthouse to remember two victims killed by a violent act.

On Thursday night, the Citizens United Against Violence held their monthly candlelight vigil.

Those in attendance lit candles and held a moment of silence for two homicide victims. The two victims remembered six-month-old Ayden Brooks and the John Doe found near Grimesland.

"It makes me feel sad seeing the different ages. Because like tonight it could be a baby and it could somebody else; but, it's still a person," said 11-year-old Caley Singleton.

Citizens united against violence started seven years ago.

The vigils are held on the first Thursday of each month.
