A woman killed in a Friday night SUV crash may have been pregnant with twins, according the Enterprise-Journal of Pike County.

Pike County Coroner Percy Pittman is attributed to the information. He would not confirm the information on Sunday, saying he was waiting for official results from an autopsy.

Two people, including the pregnant woman, were killed in the crash that happened on I-55 around 12:45 p.m. in Chatawa. It happened in the southbound land of traffic, Pittman said.

Several other people are also in critical condition at UMC. 10 people were ejected from a Mercury Mountaineer during the crash, Pike County Coroner Pittman said.

Several children were in the SUV, Pittman said.

Pittman confirms the victims are Tyronica J. Lewis, 18, of Osyka and Jenaro B. Smith, 22, also of Osyka.

Lewis was pronounced dead around 2:45 p.m. Smith died sometime after 8 p.m. on Friday at University Medical Center.

Four other people are in critical condition, Pittman said.
