Jackson Crime Victim Claims Police Ignored Her Case

Posted: Updated:
HINDS COUNTY - JACKSON -

Jackson police are disputing accusations from a crime victim that officers didn't take her case seriously.

A woman says officers told her the criminals haven't been arrested because they may be related to someone who works on the police force.

Carol Thompson tells us burglars broke into her home twice within a week.

She nailed a door shut that the thieves used the second time they broke in stole her property.

The crooks also burst through burglar bars on the back on the house to make their way in the first time.

While Thompson is upset at the alleged criminals, the Fondren woman is outraged at what she says police told her after she reported the crimes.

“They said they know who it is, I’m like why are they still free and where is my property.”

A JPD spokesman tells us they are investigating Thompson’s accusations.

They say all cases are investigated equally and that no one gets special treatment.
