A Trooper with the Mississippi Highway Patrol was transported to the hospital Saturday night after the car he was driving hit a horse, according to MHP officials.
The unidentified Trooper in the accident was responding to a call that another driver had struck a horse. The Trooper was traveling along Highway 15 in Jasper County to that accident scene when officials say another horse ran onto the road, and the Trooper hit it with his vehicle.
The Trooper's car flipped.
He was taken to a Meridian hospital and released later Saturday night.
