The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating an accident on Highway 43 where a log truck over-turned. One woman was injured.
The accident happened this morning in the Sharon community just outside of Canton.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper Eric Henry, the driver of the log truck, Wendell Moris, heard a "pop" noise when logs started rolling. Debbie White was standing outside her vehicle in the Sharon Mercantile Co. parking lot when the logs came off the 18-wheeler, rolled into her car and pinned her down.
Officers continue to investigate how the accident happened.
An eyewitness on the scene tell us it appeared the back rack of the truck broke causing the logs to roll off.
The logs also did some damage to the sharon mercantile company store.
Both the Moris and White were taken to UMC where they were treated for minor injuries.
