Driver, passenger arrested in fatal Greene County hit and run

SNOW HILL, N.C. - Troopers have arrested driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal hit and run collision in Greene County.

It happened early Sunday morning around 4:30 a.m.

They arrested 27-year-old Jamal Antwon Johnson of Stantonsburg and charged with Felony Hit and Run and Driving While License Revoked. He was processed at the Greene County Jail and placed under a $25,000 secured bond.

They also charged 24-year-old Rosa Elena Cerna of Stantonburg with Aiding and Abetting Felony Hit and Run. She was processed at the Greene County Jail and placed under a $25,000 secured bond.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol says 36-year-old Jimmy Terrell Suggs of Snow Hill was fatally struck about ½ a mile north of Browntown Road near the address of 5091 US 258 south.  He was found on the east should of US 258. Suggs was taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston where he later died.

It's believed that Suggs walked into the path of the vehicle operated by Johnson, who fled the scene
