Franklin County woman's art portrays fight against breast cancer

Posted: Updated:

A Franklin County woman is using art to tell stories of the different stages of breast cancer.

Patty Van Dolson started doing craft mosaics with her daughters.

She decided to take mosaics to an art level, but soon after she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer.

Patty then started using mosaics to communicate.

"It has actually been a way to have a goal, to have a purpose. It lets out emotions and passions and energy and gives me something to look forward to," explained Patty.

She put together 15 cancer related pieces and they're open to the public to see in her studio along Route 40, called "Gallery in the Pines."
