Henry County investigators say the suspect in a bank robbery from earlier this month has been caught, and linked to multiple other bank robberies.
Deputies tell WSLS officers caught 25-year-old George Richard Gaunt, of Louisville, Kentucky, in Minnesota.
Officers believe Gaunt robbed the Carter Bank and Trust location off of Route 58, near the Laurel Park Plaza shopping center east of Martinsville, back on October 8th. Bank employees told deputies a man handed a teller a note demanding money around 2:49 p.m., and he had a black, semi-automatic pistol with him.
The sheriff's office says the FBI has named Gaunt as a suspect in bank robberies that took place in:
Gaunt is being held at the Blue Earth County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
The Henry County Sheriff's Office says it's working with the FBI and United States Attorney's Office about how the case will be prosecuted.
