In Warren County, the rain is to blame for several traffic accidents, like this upside down car near mile-marker 8 on I-55W.
There were also reports of downed trees and flooded roads throughout Vicksburg. One woman tells us Old Highway 27 and Paxton Road always floods during a heavy downpour.
“These creeks on both sides of my house fill up. And, then, there are daredevils that want to get in the water and get stuck. Although none happened today,” Karen Carpenter tells News Channel 12.
In Smith County, power was restored around 8:30 Thursday night to hundreds of residents in Mize. The employees at this Shell gas station tell us the power went out at about 5:30 p.m. According to reports, a downed tree caused power lines to go out.
