Recent violence in the Capital City has residents speaking out.

Many are coming together at City Hall to take a stand.

Community members held a "Stop the Violence" rally in downtown Jackson Saturday afternoon.

They gathered in the courtyard at City Hall to take a stand against violence in the city.

Music, prayer and skits were a part of the afternoon's rally.

Organizers say recent violence in the Capital City has sparked the need for this event.

"We're frustrated with double homicides, triple homicides, and quadruple homicides. We are frustrated, we are tired and we're seeking answers to the problems in our city." says Pam Greer, organizer of the event

"I want to be a voice for my little cousins that just got shot a couple of days ago. Also, to be a voice for those who got killed that I know of." rally participant Antonio Moore tells us

The Stop the Violence campaign will continue with more efforts being brought forth in 2014.

Supervisor Kenneth Stokes is organizing a March and Prayer Rally Sunday beginning at Lanier High School at 2:00 p.m. and ending at Cornerstone Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m.. All are welcome to attend.
