Copiah County, MS -
An elementary school student is dead, along with his mother and his mother's husband. The family's bodies were found in an abandoned home in rural Copiah county Tuesday morning. Copiah County Coroner Ellis Stuart says the bodies of Jaidon Hill, 7, Atira Hill-Smith, 30, and Laterry Smith, 34, were found in an abandoned house off of Shelby Road, near highway 18. Officials say the suspect they have in custody, 42-year-old Timothy Liddell Burns, told them where the bodies could be found. The family had been missing since Friday, and the vehicle they were traveling in was found on Saturday, crashed and burning on Shelby Road. Jackson police recovered bloodied items linked to the family in a dumpster at a Jackson gas station on Monday morning. Among those items was a wallet, clothing, and a photo-ID. Police say Burns could face murder and arson charges. News Channel 12 will bring you more developments as they become available.
