Police are in consultation with the Commonwealth's attorney's office on pending charges for 44-year-old Michael Iseman.

Iseman was arraigned on one count of malicious wounding this morning.

Police say he stabbed his step-daughter, Elizabeth Wood multiple times. He's currently being held without bond at the Roanoke City Jail.

Roanoke City Police say officers have made an arrest in an overnight death and stabbing case.

Officers tell WSLS that 44-year-old Michael Alan Iseman, of Roanoke, was arrested during a traffic stop in Henry County around 12:35 p.m.

Investigators believe Iseman stabbed 23-year-old Elizabeth Marie Wood sometime early on Wednesday, at a home in the 1000 block of 7th Street in Southeast.  Officers found Wood on the front porch with multiple stab wounds shortly before 5:30 a.m.

When police went inside the home, they found 57-year-old Jeanne Elisabeth Smith, of Roanoke, dead inside.

Investigators say Iseman and Smith got married on October 3rd, and that Wood is Smith's daughter.  Police added that there had been no reports of domestic violence at the home involving Iseman and Smith.

Police have charged Iseman with malicious wounding, and are waiting for the results of an autopsy on Smith before filing additional charges.

Roanoke Police are investigating an early morning incident that left one woman dead and sent another to the hospital with stab wounds.

Officers were called out to a duplex near the intersection of 7th Street and Albemarle Avenue in SE Roanoke at around 5:20 Wednesday morning.

When they arrived, they found the body of a woman inside the upstairs apartment at the duplex.

A second woman, who had been stabbed, was outside on the front porch.  She was rushed to the hospital.  Her condition is unknown at this time.

Officials say an infant was also inside the home at the time, but was not hurt.  The child was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.  Social Services came to the scene and was allowed to pick up several supplies for the child.

Investigators have identified a suspect and are currently looking for that person.  No other information about that person is being released at this time.

The names of the victims are being withheld pending family notification.

Police won't release a cause of death for the woman found inside the apartment, saying it's under investigation.
