Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. - An undercover weapon and drug operation netted 53 arrests this week alone.

Greenville police secured arrest warrants for 74 violent offenders during a 9-month-long operation. Many of them have gang affiliations.

Police seized 27 illegally-possessed guns and hundreds of dollars worth of drugs, including more than 157 grams of marijuana and 129 grams of crack cocaine.

"If you're going to participate in that type of activity in Greenville we're going to come after you,” said Lt. Carlton Williams, Greenville Police Department. “We're going to come after you with everything that the law allows. We're coming for you if you're going to commit a crime in Greenville"

Police are still rounding up at least 20 more people identified in the sting.
