RALEIGH, N.C. -

A total of 93 animals were seized by Wake County Animal Control, along with local police and hazmat teams, at a Raleigh home Friday.

The home, located in the 3200 block of Sandy Bluff Road, belongs to the most recent president of the animal rescue group "Calvin's Paws," Carol De'Olloqui.

De'Olloqui was arrested Friday night at a residence on Webster Street in Cary and charged with three counts of misdemeanor animal abuse.

Her current standing with the group was unknown following the incident as the group named an interim president.

Neighbors said they witnessed roads being blocked off during the raid. "You would have never known from out here that's what was inside," a neighbor of De'Olloqui said.

Police said 90 cats and three dogs were taken from the residence.

The animals are now in the custody of the Wake County Animal Center, the SPCA of Wake County and others.

Mondy Lamb with the SPCA of Wake County said 17 of the animals were brought to them. Lamb said the 14 cats and three dogs were in good condition.

Calvin's Paws was known as Marley's Cats Tales until 2012, according to the company website.

In a release, Calvin's Paws said, "Calvin's Paws does not support fosters having an abundance of animals. Our only goal is to rescue animals most in need; sometimes we fear our fosters take on more than they should. We will work over the next weeks and months to develop policies and procedures to ensure fosters do not put themselves or our animals at risk."
