Western NC wildfire still spreading

Posted: Updated:
Helicopters and heavy equipment are being used to stop the spread of a wildfire in western North Carolina.

And investigators are looking for answers to figure out how it started.

In just one night, the fire spread to more than 100 acres near the Table Rock Mountain area. And fire crews have not been able to contain it.

So far, there have been no injuries reported. And no homes or structures are threatened.

The state Forest Service wants any campers who may have been in the picnic area to contact them immediately.
