Wrecker service owner, Ricky Saxton’s body was found in rural Yazoo County Thursday afternoon near an abandoned house.
The 57-year old was found shot in the back of his head after going missing Wednesday afternoon when a woman called him saying she had a car for him to pick up, according to investigators.
News Channel 12’s Danielle Avitable asked Saxton’s older brother Mitchell Saxton if he thinks Saxton was set up, he replied, “No doubt in my mind. These people that did it and the lady that called him; she's just as guilty as the guy that pulled the trigger."
When authorities arrived at the scene on Dale Road, Saxton’s wrecker with a small blue car on it had been towed. Mitchell tells us, the blue car had a stolen license plate from Madison County on it.
“A possible motive to the murder could have been money,” says Mitchell. "In the end it may be guys who did business with him before and knew he had money. It's just a senseless murder that should not have happened. My brother would have given him this money, you know; he would have just given it. They didn't have to do what they did."
The Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department is investigating this as a homicide case. If you have any information, please contact the Sheriff’s Department at 662-746-5611
