Melissa Now A Tropical Storm

Posted: Updated:

Subtropical Storm Melissa has turned into a Tropical Storm with maximum sustained winds at 50 mph and is moving East/Northeast at 32 mph.

However, Tropical Storm Melissa is racing toward colder North Atlantic waters where it will lose its tropical characteristics in the next day or so.

The official forecast track from the National Hurricane Center keeps Melissa far away from the United States.

Storm Team 9 will continue to track the latest from the tropics.  Hurricane season officially ends on November 30th.
