Student works to raise money for Ronald McDonald House

Posted: Updated:

A 3rd grader at Ben D. Quinn Elementary School is working to make a difference in her community.

Kayla Brice is organizing a pop tab collection container for students and families at her elementary school. The pop tabs from soda, soup or other aluminum cans are collected and recycled to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House. Craven County Schools tells 9 On Your Side that the funds generated from recycling these pop tabs help offset the House's expenses for seriously ill children and their families.

If you would like to help Kayla you can donate pop tabs to Ben D. Quinn Elementary School’s media center.
