An attempted armed robbery ends with a speedy arrest.

Greenville Police Officers responded to Captain D’s restaurant around 4 PM Friday for the report of an armed robbery.

Employees told police a man entered the restaurant, bought a drink and then lingered for about 10 minutes inside the restaurant before he pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

When the employees wouldn’t hand over the cash, the suspect left.

People at the store were able to get a tag from the car he was driving. Within 45 minutes GPD officers located the car near the intersection of Kennedy and Skinner streets.
