Fire crews respond to duplex fire in Greenville

Posted: Updated:

Greenville Fire Rescue responded to a fire at a duplex in Greenville this morning.

Neighbors saw smoke coming out of Unit A of a duplex located at 1989 Summerhaven Drive around 6am this morning. Nobody was home when the fire started.

Firefighters are currently working on the home. Smoke was still coming out of the attic area at 6:30am.

Investigators are still looking into the cause, but early indications say it may have been a exterior drop cord connected to a heater that was heating an outside pet area.
