Employees at the Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center made their very generous donation to the Marine Corp League's Toy's for Tots program Friday. This year, employees at the VA donated a remarkable 123 bikes and 567 toys!
Organizers with the Marine Corp League are grateful.
"Toys like this behind us, that's going to be the only toys some children get," says Billy Henderson who organizes the drive for the Marine Corp League. "If it were not for this, some children would get nothing for Christmas."
"We all need a little help," says Connie Mejia from the VA Medical Center. "We all need to pitch in as a community. We serve the community, and we were just proud and blessed to be able to meet our goal to help those families."
The Marine Corp League is still in need of more toys this Christmas season. If you're able to contribute, you can find their donation bins at most major retailers or you can drop off a toy at their warehouse at 4500 Lakeland Drive in Flowood.
