Vicksburg Police arrest a third suspect in connection with a Saturday afternoon shooting at the American Legion. Michael James Thomas, 46, is charged with 2nd degree murder for the shooting death of Michael "Tiger" Robinson. Thomas was providing security, at the American Legion, when the shooting happened. Police say Thomas fired his service weapon at least 1 time during an altercation between Robinson, Wade Carter and Charles Brooks. Carter and Brooks also suffered gunshot wounds. Two other men, Morris Davis and David Reed are both charged 2 counts of aggravated assault in connection with altercation. Bond for Thomas is set at $125,000. At last check, he remained in the Warren County Jail.
12-9 STORY: Two suspects are in custody after a 3 people are shot, Saturday (12-7-13) afternoon, at the American Legion, on Monroe Street, in Vicksburg. One of those shooting victims died from a bullet wound to his chest. Morris Davis, 36 and David Reed, 43, are each charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault. Both were taken to the Issaquena County jail, and are scheduled to make their initial appearance, in court, Monday (12-9-13). Neither is charged in the shooting death of 27 year old Michael "Tiger" Robinson. Investigators are waiting on autopsy results for Robinson and further examination of physical evidence gathered from the scene.
One person is dead and two more are injured after a Saturday shooting in the City of Vicksburg.
According to police, the shooting happened just before noon at the American Legion on Monroe Street.
27-year-old Michael "Tiger" Robinson died from his injuries. 24-year-old Wade Carter is recovering at River Region Hospital. 34-year-old Charles Brooks is in critical condition at UMC.
Police are questioning at least four persons-of-interest. So far, no one has been formally charged.
