GOLDSBORO, N.C. - A Mount Olive man is behind bars, accused of kidnapping a woman.

Police say it all started Sunday when deputies responded to a store on New Hope Road, where a clerk told them a male and female came into the store and she whispered to a customer, “Call 911, he’s going to kill me.” The two left the store before lawmen arrived at the scene.

About half an hour later, the woman called 911 and reported she had been kidnapped and needed help. She was able to leave her line open and dispatch was able to track her location.

Deputies responded to the scene and arrested 45 year old Terence James Garner. He was charged with 2nd Degree Kidnapping, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Domestic Assault.

He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under no bond.
