Wide Area Alert For Freezing Rain & Winter Weather Advisory
A freezing rain advisory is being issued for portions of the Delta tonight.
Light rain and light drizzle is expected to still be falling late this evening over portions of the Delta region when surface temperatures drop to freezing or below freezing. Light icing especially on elevated surfaces may occur.
A Freezing Rain Advisory in effect from 11pm this evening to 6am CST Tuesday. The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a freezing rain advisory which is in effect from 11pm this evening to 6am CST Tuesday. Ice accumulations are expected to be less than a tenth of an inch.
A Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6pm this evening to 3am & 4pm CST Tuesday. A wintry mix expected across parts of the Midsouth tonight.
Precipitation will develop across the lower Mississippi Valley in response to a fast moving upper level disturbance approaching the region. Precipitation will spread into the Midsouth this evening starting out as rain across much of North Mississippi and a light wintry mix further to the north across East Central Arkansas, Northwest Mississippi, and Southwest Tennessee. As the night progresses cold air will filter south changing the rain to a wintry mix across much of North Mississippi.
