RALEIGH, N.C. -

A record long held by Olympic swimmer Jilen Siroky was broken Saturday at the Triad Tropic Invite in Greensboro.

Raleigh's Ashley McCauley bested Siroky's previous record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.05.

Jilen Siroky had set the record for 11- to 12-year-old girls in 1994. She later swam at Notre Dame and represented the United State at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

McCauley, who swims for the Marlins of Raleigh, will be the youngest of 1,200 swimmers in the USA Swimming Winter Junior Nationals this coming weekend at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

She holds state records in the 100- and 200-meter breaststroke.
