Three Biloxi residents have been arrested and charged with insurance fraud, announced Attorney General Jim Hood today.

Rosemary Henderson, 47, Lavon Donnell Cherry, 36, and Johnny Lewis, 30, all of Biloxi, were arrested Thursday by investigators with the Attorney General’s Insurance Fraud Division.  D’Iberville Police assisted in the arrest of Levon Cherry.  All three defendants have been indicted by a Harrison County Grand Jury and facing one count each of conspiracy, insurance fraud and wire fraud.

The indictment alleges that the defendant’s executed “a scheme to defraud Geico Insurance Company, in that they filed false injury claims and medical bills from Biloxi Regional Medical Center for injuries allegedly received in an automobile collision”.

Lewis was also arrested and charged in a separate indictment of executing “a scheme to defraud Allstate insurance Company” in that he “filed false injury claims and medical bills from Biloxi Regional Medical Center for injuries allegedly received in an automobile collision”, separate from the incident involving the other two defendants.

The defendants were booked into the Harrison County Detention Center.  If convicted of all the charges, Henderson and Cherry face up to  13 years behind bars.  Lewis faces up to 26 years behind bars. As with all cases, the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
