Hokies Prep For UCLA without RB Edmunds

Posted: Updated:

Hokies Offensive Coordinator Scot Loeffler called the loss of Trey Edmunds in the Virginia game 'hurt our football team' but says that why you recruit other backs. Edmunds underwent surgery for a broken tibia the day after the Hokies closed out a win over the Cavaliers in Charlottesville. Trey Edmunds 675 yards and 10 touchdowns won't be easily replaced, but certainly JC Coleman will get first crack as the only remaining running back with any experience to speak of. Coach Frank Beamer eluded to the fact that he will take a long look at true freshman back Jerome Wright at tailback as well for the upcoming bowl game. The Hokies will face #17 UCLA in the Sun Bowl on New Year's Eve Day in El Paso.
