Virginia Tech's final game--the Sun Bowl showdown with 17th-ranked UCLA--will be another chance for its nationally ranked defense to shine. The Hokies finished up 8-4, but the defense finished up 4th in the Nation in overall defense--behind only Michigan State, Louisville and Florida State. Alabama was ranked 5th. The Hokies gave up less than 270 yards per game, and only 12 touchdowns in a 12 game schedule. Defensive Coordinator Bud Foster explains that after the Virginia game, he explained to his guys that they may not have made it to the ACC title game, but the defense was worthy of an ACC title team, if not a National championship team.
