  Coach Mickey Hardy and William Fleming will be playing for another tournament title--this time..the K-Guard Classic. The Colonels led by 19 after three quarters and cruised to a 53-38 win over Broadway. They will take on Abingdon--a 60-57 winner over Cave Spring--in the Finals on Saturday night in Salem.

   Meanwhile, the Northside quarterfinals saw the host team get handled by visiting Christiansburg 54-40. Lord Botetourt lashed Liberty 89-47, while Franklin County crushed Blacksburg 82-42 and William Byrd bounced EC Glass 75-52. Semifinal action resumes Saturday evening at Northside.

  at Cave Spring, the Knights Winter Classic saw a five overtime affair--as Cave Spring edges William Byrd 76-74. Lord Botetourt wins for the second time in as many days, 38-24 over Jefferson Forest. Abingdon edged Brookville 53-45 for the Bees first loss, while Heritage handed Patrick Henry a 56-45 defeat. Meanwhile the Broadway girls were 56-51 winners over Northside.
