By Danielle Avitable -
A Rankin County baby born with rare health problems died Sunday at the Blair E. Batson’s Children Hospital.
Myles William Baggett fought for his life since day one.
Kim Martin, Myles’ grandmother describes him as “our miracle baby."
Martin says Myles died in his mother’s arms surrounded by family, "He was in no pain, and he knew they were there."
Myles was born June 18
with rare heart, lung and kidney problems and Martin says he was given slim chances of living.
The six and a half month old never left the NICU.
"Sometimes we pray for someone to come home and it doesn't mean our physical home, it means our heavenly home and that's exactly where he went," says Martin.
The Baggett family says they now want to help other families who are going through what they went through with Myles by creating an ‘Anchor House’.
The family says even though Myles lived a short life, it was filled with purpose.
"Use Myles to know that life is fragile and it can go in an instant," Martin says.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning starting at 9 a.m. at
Wright & Ferguson funeral home following a balloon release.
