German Shepherd Shot By Vicksburg Business Burglary Suspect

The owner of Top Dollar Pawn reported that her German Shepherd had been shot and killed by a suspected burglar. The owner of Top Dollar Pawn reported that her German Shepherd had been shot and killed by a suspected burglar.
On Thursday, January 2, Vicksburg Police responded to a call from the Top Dollar Pawn Shop located at 3421 Washington Street in Vicksburg, MS regarding an attempted business burglary.

According to police reports, the owner of the business reported her four year old German Shepherd watchdog was shot and killed by the suspected burglar. The dog house was riddled with at least four gunshots. Investigators recovered four shell casings from a large caliber weapon from the scene.


Veterinarian, Dr. Rachel Potter volunteered her services in examining and X-raying the dog. Dr. Potter determined the dog was shot one time, leaving an entry and exit wound.

Access was not gained to the business.
