Posted: Updated:
Demonte Finch and Dennis Pickett made an appearance in the Hinds County Circuit Court, Monday morning.

Finch and Pickett were arrested in connection to the shooting death of Destinee Ford in December 2013.

Ford was shot in the chest during a fight that happened on December 5, 2013, at the corner of Anna Lisa Lane and Castle Hill Driver near Wingfield High School. Ford was not involved in the fight, but was a bystander.

In court today, police revealed  it was Dennis Pickett who was the one that fired the shot that killed Destinee Ford. Police recovered 40 caliber projectiles at the scene and later found two weapons at Pickett's residence. Bond was denied for Pickett's murder charge.

Police say Demonte Finch did not have a weapon. Finch did not have counsel during this court date, and has been rescheduled to appear.

Ford was a freshman at Wingfield High School.
