Lucious Perkins, 33-years-old, went before a Hinds County Circuit Court judge Monday morning. Bond was denied bond for Perkins on his capital murder charge. Perkins is one of three men accused of killing 51-year-old Tony Brown at his home last November. Family members say Brown walked in on several men who had broken into his house.
Officers busted into a south Jackson house without a search warrant looking for Perkins that November. A task force agent was shot during the incident. The injured agent with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics was grazed in the stomach, when he was shot inside the house on Archer Avenue. The agent was treated and released from the hospital.
During that search, police believed that it was Arturo Rodriguez who shot the agent but was later discovered that he did not. However, Rodriguez was later charged with illegally possessing a gun. Prosecutors say Rodriguez is in the U.S. on a temporary visa and he isn't allowed to have a gun.
