New boil water advisory issued for parts of Jackson

HINDS COUNTY - JACKSON -

The City of Jackson has issued a precautionary boil water advisory due to a recent loss in water pressure for the following areas:

· 6200 Terry Road to 6813 Terry Road.

· Timberlake Place

· Timber Creek Drive

· Dac Lane

· Brantley Drive

The advisory affects approximately 70 connections on the city's surface water system.

The notice will remain in effect until crews get two consecutive days of clean water samples.

The notice does not mean your water is unsafe, but the city advises you to boil it before use.

Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute for the following: cooking or baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices or drinks feeding pets, washing dishes and all other consumption.
