Adopted brothers missing feet now run 5Ks thanks to special prosthetics

Posted: Updated:
INDIANA - Two young boys in Indiana who could barely walk less than a year ago are now able to run. The two boys were adopted from China and each only had one foot.  While they each had a prosthetic to help them walk, their mobility was very limited.

Their parents found a company called Amputee Blade Runners that makes lighter and more flexible prosthetics.  After applying for a grant they were given two.

Now the boys are just as active as other kids their age, even running 5Ks.

"It was so exciting to see my baby run,” said Lisa Pfenning, the boys’ mother.  “They want to be in the Olympics."

The family is currently in the process of adopting a girl from China with similar disabilities.
