Moore Co. to stagger school closings Tues.

CARTHAGE, N.C. -

All Moore County Schools will operate on a staggered early release schedule on Tuesday due to inclement weather. 

The school system says the staggered schedule will allow "the maximum amount of time in the classroom while still ensuring bus students arrive home before road conditions make travel hazardous."

Lunch will be served at all school before student are released, the school system said.

Dismissal times for school Tuesday, Jan. 28:

Area I

Vass-Lakeview Elementary – 11 a.m.
Cameron Elementary – 11 a.m.
Sandhills Farm Life Elementary – 11 a.m.
Carthage Elementary – 11 a.m.
Crain's Creek Middle – 11:30 am.
New Century Middle – 11:30 a.m.
Union Pines High – 12 p.m.
Community Learning Center at Pinckney – 11 a.m.

Area II

Robbins Elementary – 11 a.m.
Westmoore Elementary – 11 a.m.
Highfalls Elementary – 11 a.m.
Elise Middle – 11:30 a.m.
North Moore High – 12 p.m.

Area III

Aberdeen Primary – 11 a.m.
Southern Pines Primary – 11 a.m.
West End Elementary – 11 a.m.
Aberdeen Elementary - 11:15 a.m.
Southern Pines Elementary – 11:15 a.m.

    Durham police say five people were hurt when two vehicles crashed Thursday night on Holloway Street.Police say it happened about 9:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Holloway, that's near the Durham city-county line.Police say traffic is being diverted around the area on Adams and Rochelle Streets.Some of the injured were taken to the hospital, but their conditions were not immediately available.
