National Wear Red Day is today, February 7 and the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women movement is asking people to wear red to raise awareness of heart disease in women.
The Go Red for Women campaign raises women's awareness of their risk for heart disease and helps them learn - and take action to reduce- their personal risk for heart disease.
Go Red For Women harnesses women's energy, passion and power to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease.
Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women - killing more women than all forms of cancer combined.
Most women don't notice the symptoms of heart disease until it's too late, which is why heart disease has been called the silent killer. But we won't be silent.
For more than a decade, millions of women have united to raise their voices about this silent killer. While we've made remarkable progress, nearly 1,100 women are still dying each day.
