This February, CafeGive Social and The Dougy Center are proud to announce the launch of Hearts In Nature Photo Contest - a social media-powered photo contest to raise funds and awareness for grieving children and their families. The Contest is sponsored by Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon and Pro Photo Supply, and all proceeds will be used to support the mission and work of The Dougy Center.
The Hearts in Nature Photo Contest kicked off on Friday, Feb. 14 and continues through March 13. The online contest is being hosted on the Facebook pages of all three organizations: Regence, Pro Photo Supply and The Dougy Center.
The contest encourages fans and followers of all three organizations pages to post their best photo of a heart in nature. After submitting photos, contestants can encourage their friends and family to vote for their photo, and share the campaign through Facebook and Twitter. For each vote received in the contest, Regence will donate $5 to The Dougy Center.
"Our support of this campaign reflects our commitment to nonprofit organizations in our community. Regence is a long-time supporter of The Dougy Center and we are pleased to join with Pro Photo Supply and the residents of our community to support children and families in our community," said Angela Dowling, President of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon.
To encourage their communities to get involved, and to help them reach their $5,000 fundraising goal equivalent to 1,000 votesPro Photo Supply is offering $150, $100, and $50 gift cards to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
Regence of Oregon, Pro Photo Supply, and The Dougy Center chose to use social media and CafeGive Socials Photo Contest App in order to maximize exposure for the contest, and engage as many members of their community as possible in a fun, and exciting way.
About the Hearts in Nature Photo Contest
To enter the contest, people can simply visit any of the three Facebook pages Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, The Dougy Center, or Pro Photo Supply -- and post their best original photo of a heart in nature. Photos must feature heart-shaped elements of nature. After submitting photos, contestants can spread the word about the contest by encouraging their friends and family to vote for their favorite photo, and easily share the campaign through their own Facebook and Twitter accounts. Voting closes at midnight on March 13.
Photo Contest winners will be announced on all of the organizations Facebook pages on March 21, and Pro Photo Supply will process each winning entry for exhibition on their website.
"Were thrilled to have the support of Regence and Pro Photo Supply for this generous effort," said Brennan Wood, Director of Development and Communications at The Dougy Center. "It will definitely help us in our mission to serve grieving children and families."
The viral nature of social media combined with the "Hearts In Nature" theme make this the perfect campaign for Facebook and for February. Regence, Pro Photo Supply, and The Dougy Center had very active fan bases, and the Hearts In Nature Photo Contest is a way to engage all of their communities around a common cause.
