The international court to rely on SeeUnity software to increase information accessibility

DENVER, Feb. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The European Court of Human Rights announced that it has deployed a more powerful search portal for the use of its member lawyers. The custom search portal, powered by Microsoft FAST, targets legal libraries, stored in an external OpenText eDOCS DM5 system. To facilitate the integration between, the Court selected SeeUnity's Enterprise Search for FAST.

"We chose SeeUnity's product because it met two very important requirements," said John Hunter, Head of IT at the Court. "SeeUnity's ease of deployment helped simplify a potentially complex integration. The product also uses native API integration, which allowed us to configure FAST to access not just eDOCS content, but metadata and security. This is a key distinction; metadata access enables us to take advantage of FAST's powerful filtering capabilities, security integration allows us to restrict access to content based on user credentials."

The newly upgraded search portal provides improved search performance and usability. The portal provides powerful filtering tools to 'tune out' and trim results based on relevance and is intuitive enough to quickly master. The search portal improvements contribute to the Court's mission of educating visiting lawyers, and enabling them to more effectively uphold the Court's legal standards in their home countries.
