Suspect Arrested In Grenada Homicide Case

Grenada, MS - UPDATE - 2/20/14, 3:15pm:  Wednesday, the Grenada Police received information from the family of Candice Davis, that a possible suspect in her death may be her boyfriend, James Williams, age 33.

The Grenada Police discovered that a warrant had been issued for the arrest of Williams in Akron, Ohio and coordinated their efforts with Ohio authorities.

Grenada Police, along with U S Marshalls, apprehended Williams in the Memphis, TN area sometime after 12:00 am.

Williams has been charged with the murder of Candice Davis based on police investigation. Williams is currently in custody in Memphis, TN and is awaiting extradition back to Grenada, MS.

Williams bond has been set at $1,000,000.



Grenada Police are investigating the death of a woman found in her apartment early this morning.  Authorities say the body of 33-year-old Candice Davis was found at 357 Main Street apartment 2 just after 12:30 a.m.
The state crime lab and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation have been called in to assist Grenada Police.


"We have no history of physical illness and it arises some suspicion,” explains Capt. George Douglas, the chief detective on the case.

Police are asking anyone with information to call authorities or Crime Stoppers.
